The Azerbaijani people faced numerous acts of genocide and extermination by Armenian nationalists in the modern history of Azerbaijan, during the Karabakh war. Along with the genocide perpetrated against the Azerbaijani population in Khojaly, Garadagli, Malibeyli, one of the most violent acts of vandalism and crimes committed by Armenian nationalists is the capture of the Agdaban village of the Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan on April 7-8, 1992.
“A little more than a month after the Khojaly tragedy, the Armenian fascists unleashed the same kind of genocide in the Agdaban village of the Kalbajar district. They burned the village to ashes, brutally killing about 40 civilians. Eight of them were aged between 90 and 100. Armenians buried alive an 8-year-old child in front of his mother and gruesomely killed a 6-year-old girl. About 100 villagers were captured and they were subjected to severe torture while in captivity. The Armenian butchers were cutting their fingers off and pulling out their teeth, Sabir Mustafayev the IDP from Kalbajar said.
The attack of the village took place under the direct supervision of the former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. Having invaded Agdaban where 130 houses were located, the Armenian thugs completely burned it down.
