American newspaper “The Daily Caller” has published an article headlined “The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is anything but frozen” written by Justin Amler, a noted writer and commentator on international issues with special stresses on the Middle East, Eurasia and the former Soviet Union
In the article, it is given information about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, increasing of tension in the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenian armies in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Azerbaijani Republic.
The author calling Armenia as a vassal state emphasizes that the foreign policy of Armenia is controlled from the outside, even the borders of the country are not protected by Armenians. Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of the West and it contributes to providing energy security to Europe through its energy projects, including Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
Referring to the violation of the Azerbaijani state border by Armenian forces and their incitement in December last year, Armenian military units were properly responded. The author notes that Armenia kept the dead body of an Azerbaijani soldier killed during those incidents until February 2017, but only returned to Azerbaijan after the intervention of the Council of Europe and the OSCE Minsk Group.
He notes that the flagrant violations of international law by Armenia have been acknowledged by many international organizations. The expert emphasizes that international law supports clearly Azerbaijan recalling 4 UN Security Council Resolutions requiring immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian forces from Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
Emphasizing the deadlock situation of Armenian economy, Justin Amler writes that the regulation of the NK conflict can make favorable conditions for resolving some problems, as well as economic problems and bring benefit to Armenia.
