As the press service of the State Statistical Committee of the NAR informs to naxcivantv.az that, purposeful measures taken in economic and social spheres have stimulated the general development in the Autonomous Republic , manufacturing and service sectors have been created, new workplaces have been opened and consecutive works toward promoting public health have been done.
As a result of the conditions provided, stability has been secured and living conditions have been improved in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
All these dynamically affect the population growth.
Thus, compared with the end of 1995 ,the population of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic increased by 31.6 percent and reached over 444 million on 1 January in 2016.
During the compared years decreasing in infant mortality rate has influenced positively dynamic growth of the population too.
In 1995 the infant mortality rate was over 20 per 1000 while in 2015 it was only 1,5 per 1000 in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Now, infant mortality rate in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is less than the respective indexes of the countries such as France, Greece, Germany, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Bulgaria, Hungary Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Providing public with high-quality food products and ecologically clean potable water, creating new green spaces and other significant measures like these considerably boost to increase life expectancy being a necessary demographic indicator.
So, in 1995 the average life expectancy was 69 years – 65,3 years for men and 72.5 years for women, while according to the overall statistics of 2015 , this was 78.2 including 76.2 years for males and 80.2 for females.
The life expectancy rate in Nakhchivan is more than in European countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Slovakia.
Statistics of the last 15 years shows that life expectancy in European countries increased by almost 3 years while this index was 7.2 in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
These indicators are an obvious example of worth given to the people living in the Autonomous Republic.
